Starkey BTE

A child’s laughter. Music, leaves crunching under foot. Birds singing … the sounds of life are endless. We have only five senses to experience the world around us. And when one of those senses is impaired, it takes away from your quality of life. With Audiology Associates, you don’t have to endure a life of limited hearing.

Dr. Patrice Rifkind, Dr. Kevin Bolder and Hearing Aid Dispenser Kimberly Monica of Audiology Associates in Santa Clarita take pride in offering the most current products and services available. Have you seen today’s new hearing aids?

If you haven’t, these are definitely not your father’s hearing aids. These days, they are  so small they easily go unnoticed. In fact, the only thing people usually notice is that they don’t have to repeat themselves when talking with you. If you’re ready to hear the world again, call Audiology Associates at (661) 284-1900 to schedule an appointment.

You may also have a son or daughter who have suffered some hearing loss. In a recent U.S. survey of 500 teenagers ages 13–19, 46 percent of teens reported experiencing ringing, roaring, buzzing or pain in their ears after engaging in risky hearing practices, including listening to excessively loud music and using lawn and power tools with no hearing protection.

One in six teens admitted having these symptoms often or all the time. The nationwide survey was conducted by ReRez Research of Dallas, Texas to learn more about teens and their listening habits. This is clearly not good news.

We come into this world with five senses – sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. All of those senses are vital to experiencing the beauty of the world. Lose one and you’ve lost a lot. What if you woke up one morning and couldn’t taste anymore? That happens to some people who have sinus operations. Fortunately, most of them regain their sense of taste over time.

Adults or teens with hearing loss have difficulty participating in conversations at work, home and in social situations. Children with hearing loss – especially those younger than six months — have difficulty learning important language skills that normal hearing children learn by listening to language spoken by family members.

If you or someone you know has concerns about hearing and want to get it checked, call Audiology Associates in Valencia at 661-284-1900 to set up an appointment.
