Wearing hearing aids can be a bit disorienting for someone who is new to these high-tech devices, and they can be especially hard for young children to get used to. But if your child has severe hearing loss and needs to wear them, here are some more tips to help your child get used to them.

Don’t play with the volume too much. It’s likely that the hearing aids adjust to different listening situations automatically, so they shouldn’t need to be manually adjusted very often. If they do turn them up it could make the volume too loud.

And they should practice talking to people in groups. This will help their brain reconnect the dots between sounds, vocal patterns, and nonverbal body language.

Audiology Associates offers professional and caring service. We carry state-of-the-art products that can vastly improve your hearing. Give us a call at 661-284-1900.
