Despite the high prevalence and growing health care costs associated with caring for a child with autism, autism research receives less than 5 percent of the research funding of many other, less prevalent, childhood diseases. It affects 1 in every 88 children who are born today. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls.

FACT: Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder and there is no cure, so it’s important to fund research into the causes of autism and how it can be diagnosed and treated early.

Last year the Topping Brothers held a golf fundraiser to raise money for autism research, but more donations are needed. For more information, visit
