How do you choose?
All over the world, skin tones run the gamut from dark, luscious browns to peachy keen to soft ivory shades and everything in between. The shades of beauty run deep. Choosing the best lip colors to compliment your skin tone is important if you want to look your beautiful best.
Well, that can be the tricky part, unless you know the right makeup palette to complement your complexion. Select and stick to a family of colors that works with your skin tone. Be sure it’s right for your eye color and hair shade as well.
Just because a shade looks gorgeous on your best friend doesn’t mean you should run out and buy it for yourself. Each of us is unique and not every color works on every precious pucker!
You’re probably pretty intuitive about what looks good on you. For instance, consider your lip color collection. There are probably some you use all the times and others you never touch. Your favorites are probably the colors that compliment your skin tone.
Want a little help? Here are a few tips on picking your best colors.
All skin has undertones of either yellow or pink. Knowing your undertone is helpful when you’re trying to figure out which lipstick colors look best on you.
Look at the veins on your wrist. Are they blue or Green? If they’re blue and you tend to prefer blues, whites, and grays, you’ve got pink undertones. If your veins appear greenish, you have a yellow undertone. If they appear to be both blue and green, you have a neutral skin tone and you can wear just about any color.

A drop-down box will appear and the second choice on that list is LIPSTICK. Click on it and it will open up to the section of our website that shows lipstick color blocks that look like this:
Wave the curser over any you choose and then click on it. The color you choose will be displayed on the Tube and swatch to the left of the color shade boxes. For instance, the color below is 1995, one of our most popular colors. It’s a matte but creamy lip color that isn’t trendy but instead, a timeless expression of glam.
Next item on the drop-down list is Lip Gloss. If you have never tried Color Your Smile Lip Gloss, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised by your first application. All 30 shades come in a sleek applicator with a light and mirror. Click on any of the color boxes and the lip gloss container and swatch pictured on the left will be shaded in that color.
